Diarrhea Detective: Beast of the Park

Collage of five panels showing Paul the Diarrhea Detective chasing a beast story in the park, ending in a mop water disaster.

    Parody case file

    1. Panel 1

      Breaking News, Breaking Brain

Paul watches a news report about a mysterious beast in the park, tongue out and magnifying glass ready.
Paul watches news about a mysterious beast terrorizing the park with his tongue out and magnifying glass ready.

Paul sits hunched in the living room surrounded by grease stained wrappers, eyes glued to the flickering TV. The anchor warns of a mysterious beast terrorizing the park, a blurry photo and a dramatic headline doing all the heavy lifting. Paul clutches his magnifying glass and sticks out his tongue like a child tasting destiny. In his head he is already on the case, already imagining the headlines where his name eclipses the so called experts. He thinks the world will thank him. Instead, the world just waits to laugh.

    2. Panel 2

      Fog Patrol

Paul in camouflage creeps through a foggy park at night, holding a flashlight and magnifying glass.
Paul dressed in camouflage creeping through the foggy park at night with flashlight and magnifying glass.

Into the foggy park he goes, trench coat layered under a camouflage jacket two sizes too small. Flashlight in one hand, magnifying glass in the other, Paul creeps like a cartoon soldier stalking the enemy. The raccoon in the background is more qualified to solve crimes than he is, but Paul grins wide, convinced he is closing in on the beast. He imagines the cameras flashing, the mayor shaking his hand, the world calling him savior. All he is really doing is scaring the pigeons.

      • Stealth rating: loud jacket, louder confidence

      • Backup unit: none

      • Most competent witness: local raccoon
    3. Panel 3

      Sacred Prints

Paul kneels by muddy prints near an old gazebo with candles, tongue out in exaggerated concentration.
Paul kneels by muddy prints near an old gazebo with candles burning, sticking his tongue out in mock concentration.

At the cracked steps of an old gazebo lit by guttering candles, Paul drops to his knees. There in the moss, muddy prints. His tongue dangles out of his mouth as he squints through the magnifying glass like he has uncovered holy scripture. The prints are obvious, some local dog wandered by, but to Paul it is proof. He nods solemnly as if the case is solved, as if every doubter will now bow before his genius. The squirrel watching from a branch knows better.

    4. Panel 4

      Door Kick Diplomacy

Paul kicks open a park restroom door, startling a janitor while waving a magnifying glass.
Paul kicks open a park restroom door startling a janitor as he waves his magnifying glass.

The trail dies near the restroom, so Paul makes his move. With a war cry stuck halfway in his throat and his tie flapping sideways, he boots the door wide open. The janitor drops his mop, staring in disbelief at the trench coated lunatic waving a magnifying glass. Paul is sure he has cornered the beast, sure the moment of glory is here. All he has really cornered is a man cleaning up vomit, and a bucket full of dirty water waiting like a trap.

    5. Panel 5

      Mop Water Crown

Paul drenched head to toe in filthy mop water, wearing a bucket like a crown while grinning in humiliation.
Paul covered head to toe in filthy mop water with a bucket on his head, grinning in humiliation.

A slip, a stumble, and the bucket flips. Paul ends up wearing it like a crown, mop string dripping brown filth across his face. His trench coat is soaked, his glasses smeared, his grin stretched in manic defeat. Another case cracked, another disaster. The beast still roams the park, and Paul is baptized in mop water, the king of clowns. The janitor shakes his head and goes back to mopping, while Paul convinces himself this is only a temporary setback on the road to legend.

Diarrhea Detective: Attack of the Toilet Paper Gnomes

Collage of five panels showing Diarrhea Detective Paul investigating runaway toilet paper and getting ambushed by toilet paper gnomes.

    Parody case file

    1. Panel 1

      The Broadcast

Paul watches a news report about runaway toilet paper, making a ridiculous detective face.
Paul watches a news report of a runaway toilet paper roll on TV while mugging with his magnifying glass.

Paul drools on his trench coat while glued to the morning news. A runaway toilet paper roll is terrorizing Main Street, baffling locals and stalling traffic. To Paul it is not just toilet paper, it is destiny calling. He licks the magnifying glass like a lollipop, muttering about clues, convinced this is the conspiracy he was born to crack. The world laughs at him, but Paul swears the world will soon eat its laughter, one sheet at a time.

    2. Panel 2

      Crosswalk Chase

Paul runs across traffic chasing a runaway toilet paper roll, magnifying glass in hand.
Paul runs across a busy street chasing after toilet paper with magnifying glass in hand.

He bolts from his apartment and into the street, trench coat flapping like a dirty cape. Cars honk, drivers scream, pedestrians scatter as Paul barrels forward, magnifying glass waving. The toilet paper skips along the asphalt like it has a mind of its own. Paul pants and howls, calling it the white serpent of doom. To him it is a criminal mastermind unraveling its escape. To everyone else, he looks like a lunatic chasing Charmin through traffic.

      • Evidence: fluttering paper trail

      • Suspect: the roll itself

      • Detective status: fully committed to nonsense
    3. Panel 3

      Garden Witnesses

Paul crouches in a garden following a toilet paper trail while gnomes stare silently.
Paul crouches in a garden following a trail of toilet paper with lawn gnomes looking on.

The toilet paper slithers into a garden. Paul drops to his knees, tongue out, magnifying glass wobbling as he follows the paper trail. Garden gnomes glare from their little thrones of dirt and plastic. To Paul they are witnesses, potential informants. He whispers promises of protection. But their silence curdles the air. Paul does not notice, blinded by the thrill of the chase. He is already rehearsing the speech he will give at the press conference.

    4. Panel 4

      The Wrap

Paul is mummified in toilet paper in an alley as the gnomes close in.
Paul wrapped head to toe in toilet paper like a mummy stumbling down an alley.

In the alley the trap is sprung. The gnomes come alive, shrieking, hurling rolls like grenades. Paul stumbles as white sheets whip around him, binding him tighter with each step. Soon he is mummified in two-ply, gagging, stumbling, barely able to wheeze out a protest. He sways like a drunk scarecrow. The gnomes circle, cackling, chanting in a language made of flushes and giggles. He realizes too late he was not chasing toilet paper. The toilet paper was leading him to them.

    5. Panel 5

      Dumpster Baptism

Gnomes pummel Paul behind a dumpster, leaving him filthy and humiliated.
Toilet paper gnomes pummel Paul in an alley behind a dumpster leaving him covered in filth.

Behind the dumpster the gnomes show no mercy. They rain toilet rolls down on Paul’s head until he whimpers, tongue lolling, body smeared with grime. They shove him into a nasty pit, a stew of old paper and alley sludge. Paul flails, defeated, crowned the loser of another night. The gnomes vanish as mysteriously as they appeared. Paul lies there in the muck, whispering that one day he will be famous. But tonight he is just another clown wrapped in tissue, broken and baptized in filth.
